5 Months in Africa

At the end of the week the students were tested on what had been taught all week. Here is the first part of the test in which they had to break down and share the definition of “Synergism.”

We spent the past week at Lutheran Evangelical Bible School in Lusaka, Zambia. My job while we were there was to instruct the students in music, so we covered a few hymns from Lutheran Worship, and also did some introduction to the liturgy.

The offering was given in 2 baskets, each with its separate line. One was for the pastors and visitors, the other for members. It was a sort of competition to see who could give more.

We have returned from our week long journey to DRC. I am working on writing up as much of the work and experiences that took place as possible. In the meantime, I will post a few pictures. This is the view from my room in Kinshasa.

These are the 35 or so pastors that attended our 2-day seminar on the Book of Concord taught by Dr. Anssi Simojoki. If you watch till the end, you will hear different harmonies and cool little musical things being added verse by verse.

These are the members of the Massai Church I wrote about a while back singing during the service.
